Maintenance of the Firewheel® |
|
The wheel and front loading pin (red parts), trigger and shoulder rest are available as spare parts for minimal cost – we are not interested in making profit on the spare parts, only keeping you and your Firewheel in action. Send us an e-mail if you need spare parts, and we will let you know what it will cost to get them to you. Mind you, you will need to do something fairly drastic to need the spare parts – these things are designed to take punishment – most vulnerable part is the wheel if you repeatedly load multiple bands on each spoke, or use very thick rubber bands, you can break the spokes. If you do break any of the parts (apart from the red ones), by running over your Firewheel with a truck etc, the best way to repair them is with the correct solvent which is a 50/50 mix of MEK and Toluene, which can be obtained from suppliers of industrial paints. The MEK melts the plastic enabling the parts to be welded back together, and the Toluene slows down the rate of evaporation of the MEK. The Cyanoacrylate (Instant) Adhesives, such as 'Loctite 401', also do a good job, enabling a repair that is almost as strong as a proper solvent weld. |
