Australia Post (as at March 2009) charges flat rates of $5.40 for shipments under 500 gms, anywhere in Australia, and similarly $4.20 for shipments under 250 gms. When the 500 gms is exceeded, normal parcel rates apply with a Flagfall and per kg rate, which both vary depending on where you are relative to us in Gladstone, Queensland. Australia Post also charges to the next full kg, so for example if a parcel weighs 506 gms you are charged for a full 1000 gms (1 kg). The table at the bottom shows the current Australia Post rates e.g. 1 kg to Sydney would cost $9.05 Flagfall + $1.10 = $10.15 (considerably more than the $5.40 above) A Firewheel in its Tough Bag, ready to dispatch, weighs around 465 gms, so only very light items such as UHP Ammo, a single GAT Band, Bunty Band or 20 GITD Ammo Bands will fit in without taking it over the 500 gms.
