Using the Firewheel |
|
The Firewheel has an unusual trigger action, what we call a push-pull trigger. You fire by pushing the trigger (with base of thumb) rather than the normal pulling action with forefinger. It is a kind of rocking action, gripping with the lower fingers and palm of hand, and rocking the top of your hand forward – feels strange to begin with, but you soon get used to it, and it enables you to have full control of the rate of fire – a little bit of back pressure with your “normal trigger finger” enables you squeeze off individual shots, or bursts of fire at any rate you want. The shotgun effect is best achieved by loading right around to the smallest spoke on the wheel (see Tips and FAQs), and then pushing the trigger right in and engaging the longest spoke again – all 10 bands effectively fire at once when you push the trigger, though in reality it is an extremely rapid rate of fire, with a few milliseconds between each shot. For more detailed info on using the Firewheel, you can download the Owner’s Manual in PDF form from the Downloads page, and the new instruction video gives a very good demo of the Firewheel’s capabilities. |
